The Culinistas are a private chef service based in NYC

The Culinistas came to us to grow their target audience by improving their email marketing and fully manage their Instagram presence. Their goals were twofold: to educate potential customers and drive more sales.

Before diving in, we audited the Culinistas Instagram and email strategy to understand what was working and what wasn’t. We found gaps between visual and verbal direction outlined in their brand book, so our first goal was to align these. We outlined multiple content buckets for Instagram, specially chosen to achieve the brand’s KPIs. This informed our ongoing content calendar of created and sourced imagery in conjunction with The Culinistas. Our team wrote all caption copy for Instagram to address new product launches, changing menus, and more, oversaw the day-to-day management, and led community engagement. And of course, we delivered and analyzed monthly reporting, interpreting data and adjusting our strategy as needed to encourage further growth.

In need of a refined email strategy, The Culinistas team decided to expand our scope to include email marketing. With the goals of growing their subscriber base and improving content and message frequency, we got to work. We created a completely new email template and regular newsletter for their weekly menu announcement to their subscriber base as well as a regular note to their team of chefs. To help increase subscriber base we implemented a website pop-up, ensured email collection happened on the first step of the check-out funnel, and participated in two giveaways with complementary NYC based luxury brands.

What We Accomplished

  • In seven months, we grew the Culinistas Instagram following by 87% and increased engagement by an additional 1.5%

  • Surpassed 10k followers and earned the swipe-up feature to send more customers to their website

  • Our new content strategy created a more relatable and engaging page that drove more visitors on site. Their content passed 21% engagement on some posts

  • Designed and executed an email newsletter automation sequence and weekly newsletter for their internal staff and subscriber list to educate prospective customers and drive more sales
